SGS exhibits at the 1st Borneo International (BOGCE), to be held from May 7-8, 2010 in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia. At stand nos. A2 and A15, SGS will present a wide portfolio of services for the oil and gas sector.

SGS organized two seminars on personnel certification in the field of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) in Southeast Asia. The seminars were designed to introduce the different certification systems.

On April 15, 2010, SGS opens its new office for building inspection and building certification services for industrial clients from the construction industry in Tokyo, Japan.

On April 22, 2010, SGS will be exhibiting at the 2010 ASME Trade Show at the Pasadena Convention Center in Pasadena, Texas, at booth number 304.

The world famous entertainment company, Cirque du Soleil awarded SGS the contract to verify their conformity with Russian safety regulations prior to launching their show “Varekai” in Moscow.

In May 2008, SGS began with Project Certification services for Borkum West II offshore wind farm. Project Certification offered by SGS enables wind farm owners to obtain necessary approvals and meet international and local standards.

On January 18, 2010, SGS became the first authorized company in Spain to conduct Visual Inspections of cylinders for compressed natural gas in road vehicles.

SGS Industrial Services was awarded the contract to provide independent welding inspection for the China Pavilion as part of the World Expo 2010 Project in Shanghai.

SGS joins the British Bankers’ Association (BBA), the leading association for the banking and financial sector in the United Kingdom.

Remote Ultrasonic Testing is a new non-destructive testing method offered by SGS which enables the inspection for corrosion on difficult to access storage tank walls and roof without the need to use costly and time consuming scaffolding or cranes.
