On November 9, visitors will experience a day of agricultural activities and meet the farmers who grow the food they eat. Farm Day is free and for all ages.

The grant funds will go towards SEEAG's "Ventura County Child Wellness Initiative," a program that is designed to educate and inspire children to eat healthy by adding locally grown Ventura County specialty crops to their diet.

Day, Hermanas Vineyard & Winery and Riverbench Vineyard will join 10 Santa Maria Valley ranches, nurseries and agricultural organizations in celebrating the bounty of food produced by local growers by offering free tours and other activities.

More than 10 Santa Barbara County farms, ranches, wineries and nurseries in Santa Maria Valley and Lompoc will open their doors to the pubic during the first annual Santa Barbara County Farm Day.

Over the next three years, the mobile classroom van will visit over 120 schools, reaching 10,000 Ventura County second through fourth graders, many who are Title 1 low-income children.

Named to the board are Heidi Whitcomb, CEO of Ventura Rental Party & Events, Melinda Beardsley, president of Beardsley & Son and Bradley Dykes, branch manager of Morgan Stanley in Oxnard.

The SEEAG initiative will reach 10,000 children including low income, Title 1 students in grades second through fourth.

Farm Day visitors create their own itinerary, travel at their own pace to experience a day of agricultural activities and meet the farmers who grow the food they eat.

Through this program, over 20,000 elementary school students in Southern California have increased their understanding of the food journey.
