SME Education Foundation

Celebrating its 30th Anniversary, the SME Education Foundation is focused on improving the quality of manufacturing education by encouraging increased attention to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education.

Since 1998, the SME Education Foundation has provided over $4.0 million in financial aid through its scholarship program. This year, 140 students received scholarships.

The SME Education Foundation has awarded Family and Director Scholarships to six future manufacturing engineers pursuing careers in electrical, industrial, mechanical, medical and nuclear manufacturing engineering.

The SME Education Foundation has expanded and enhanced its award-winning Manufacturing is Cool website using pop culture to encourage young people to consider careers in manufacturing engineering.
