On September 1, 2010, SGS announced a new Business Development Manager for Renewable Energy Services in Scandinavia. Michael Ruiberriz is now responsible for the development of Renewable Energy Services in the region.

From December 7th through to the 9th, SGS will present its large array of Wind Turbine Blade Testing services at the International Wind Turbine Blade Manufacture Conference 2010 in Düsseldorf, Germany.

In April 2010, SGS was assigned a contract to conduct Soil Testing for an irrigation expansion project, which aims at creating a dynamical regional centre in Western Australia by extending the irrigated area.

On October 4-11, 2010, an eight-day Welding Inspector training course and examination session will be conducted by SGS Industrial Services in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

SGS was awarded the contract to conduct Materials Testing and Quality Control for the new subway extension of Line 9. More than 400 types of Material Tests will be executed in SGS’s laboratory in Madrid.

On October 4-5, 2010, SGS will be carrying out a two-day international training course with the title ‘Practical Introduction to FIDIC Contract Conditions’ in Odessa, Ukraine.

On October 13-15, 2010, SGS will attend the China Wind Power 2010, the leading international wind power conference and exhibition in China at stand no. EB27.

SGS was assigned a yearly contract to provide consultancy services for the construction of chimneys in India by Bygging India Ltd. Quality Assurance and Quality Control will be conducted by SGS at fifteen chimney construction sites in India.

On June 1, 2010, SGS was assigned a six-week contract to provide Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) services for a large manufacturer of aircraft and mass transportation equipment.

From October 5-7, 2010 SGS will attend the North American Offshore Wind Conference & Exhibition 2010 and present its services at stand no.313.
