On September 14, 2010, SGS, as a silver sponsor, attends the Inaugural Peruvian Energy & Infrastructure Finance Forum at the JW Marriott Hotel in Lima, Peru. SGS expert, Santiago Mazzuchelli Urquijo will present a case study on the Maple Ethanol.

On October 27-29, 2010 SGS exhibits its wide range of Wind Energy Services at the Delphi International Renewable Energy Conference (DIREC) 2010 taking place at the India Expo Center & Mart in New Delhi, India.

SGS Industrial Services, known for its professional and reliable Pipeline Welding Inspection, received the contract to conduct independent welding inspection for a new 60km pipeline project in Nigeria from SEPTA Energy Limited.

On July 28, 2010, SGS was awarded a contract to provide inspection and testing services during the construction of a wagon facility and a ship loading terminal by a leading Brazilian mining and logistics company in São Luiz, Brazil.

The European Commission is proposing to replace the Construction Products Directive with a new Construction Product Regulation. SGS will support manufacturers of construction products in their preparation for the Construction Product Regulation.

On September 7-9, 2010, SGS will exhibit its Renewable Energy Services at the Eolica Expo Mediterranean 2010 at stand no.8 B32.

Jason Scott was appointed by SGS as the new Strategic NDT Operations Development Leader for Asia. He will focus on developing strategic operations in Non-Destructive Testing and Project Management globally but with a particular focus on Asia.

On July 1, 2010, SGS was awarded a one-year contract to conduct Supply Chain Services for the construction of a new metallurgical plant by one of Russia’s largest producers of pipes, railroads and metal products.

In July 2010, The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) officially approved SGS to execute Building Certification and Building Inspection Services in its new office in Tokyo.

On September 21 to 25, 2010, SGS will showcase its service portfolio for the wind energy industry at the Husum Wind Energy Trade Fair. Its services include Commissioning and In-Service Inspections, Wind Farm Project Certification,Design Verification.
