SGS Industrial Services

On November 1, 2010, SGS announced Pascal Sutz as the new Vice President of Nuclear Services. Since the nuclear industry is on the up and the number of new nuclear power plants is growing,Pascal Sutz will focus on the development of nuclear services.

In September 2010, SGS was assigned a four-year contract to provide inspection services for the buildings of the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium.

From October 12th to the 14th, 2010, SGS Industrial Services held a seminar on the Construction Products Directive (CPD) in Shanghai, Guangzhou and Xiamen, which, with more than 100 attendees from over 80 companies, proved to be a great success.

On December 13th and 14th, SGS will attend and sponsor the Wind Power Conference at the Cairo Ramses Hilton Hotel in Egypt. On Conference Day 2 at 10.30 am, SGS will be holding a presentation entitled Increasing Efficiency of Wind Energy Projects.

In August 2008, SGS was assigned a contract to conduct Construction Supervision for Viaducto Bicentenario, a 25 km highway project crossing Mexico City, running 25 km from Mexico D.F to Tepotzotlan.

On November 18, 2010, SGS INTRON will exhibit at Concrete Day (Betondag) in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Throughout the exhibition, SGS INTRON will present the broad scope of its joint service portfolio for the building sector at booth number 2.

In September 2010, SGS has become a member of Suisse Eole, an association for the promotion of wind energy in Switzerland. For the first time as a Suisse Eole member, SGS attended the meeting of the association held on September 14th, 2010 in Bern.

On November 30, 2010, SGS offers a one-day seminar on advanced Ultrasonic Testing (UT) in Kazakhstan. The SGS seminar will focus on two Non-Destructive Testing methods: Phased Array and Time of Flight Diffraction.

At the end of September 2010, the Certification Body of SGS Vostok Limited, the Russian subsidiary of the SGS Group, began issuing the first Certificates of Conformity under the new Russian Technical Regulation on Machinery and Equipment Safety.

From November 2nd through to the 4th, SGS will be showcasing its wide scope of Renewable Energy Services at the Annual Conference and Exhibition “RenewableUK 2010”, which takes place at the Scottish Exhibition Conference Centre (SECC) in Glasgow.
