Students in sixth through eighth grade in Westlake Village, Agoura Hills and Oak Park can learn about the Triunfo YMCA Model United Nations (MUN) program at an information night, Thursday February 20 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

David H. Murdock, owner of Dole Food Company, pledged $10 million to begin construction of the Triunfo YMCA facility at the new Westlake Village Park/YMCA site.

The Triunfo YMCA, serving Westlake Village, Oak Park and Agoura Hills, is holding its spring camp from April 21 through 25 at the YMCA daycare facility at Willow Elementary School.

The Simi Valley Family YMCA will hold Spring I and Spring II swim classes from February 24 through June 7. Signups begin February 10 for Spring I. Classes take place at the Simi Y’s heated indoor swimming pool (3200 Cochran St., Simi Valley).

The Triunfo YMCA is signing up participants for its spring basketball league. Kids in kindergarten through eighth grade are eligible. The eight-game season runs from March 23 through May 24 with playoff/championship games beginning May 25.

The Southeast Ventura County YMCA, serving communities in eastern Ventura County, is kicking off its annual fundraising efforts February 1.

An Activate Simi Valley kick-off, health fair and first weigh-in will take place at the Simi Valley Family YMCA (3200 Cochran St., Simi Valley) on Thursday, January 16 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The Simi Valley Family YMCA provides swim lessons and other aquatics programs year round. It is currently looking for young adults to staff its winter swim classes and lifeguards to ensure everyone is safe in and around the pool.

The Conejo Valley YMCA is holding a free community holiday gathering Friday, December 13 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Everyone is invited.

The Simi Valley Family YMCA is selling Christmas trees beginning December 5. Tree sale proceeds will help families in need participate in YMCA programs.
