The Conejo Valley YMCA has a new head swim coach. Melissa (Missy) McIntyre will be training the Conejo Valley YMCA's Sharks swim team as they compete in regional swim meets.

The Southeast Ventura County YMCA, serving the Conejo Valley, Moorpark and Simi Valley, has added new members to its board of directors. Members serve three-year terms.

The Triunfo and Conejo Valley YMCAs will host Thanksgiving Camps, Monday through Wednesday, November 22 through 24 at locations in Moorpark and Agoura Hills.

The YMCA childcare site at MATES (Meadows Arts and Technology Elementary School, 2000 La Granada Dr.) in Thousand Oaks will host a "Parents Night Out," Friday, October 29 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Kids at the Triunfo YMCA childcare program at Sumac Elementary School in Agoura Hills are raising money this month to help their four-legged friends. Money raised through the recycling efforts will be donated to the Agoura Hills Animal Shelter.

The Miller Family YMCA will host a free Kids Mud Run, Sunday, October 24 at 10:00 a.m. at the Dos Vientos Community Park (4801 Borchard Rd., Newbury Park).

The Conejo Valley YMCA is hosting its sixth annual Turkey Day Dash on Thanksgiving morning, November 25, and needs volunteers to assist with the event that typically draws more than 1,600 runners and walkers.

Flag football season is almost here at the Miller Family YMCA. Sign ups and skill assessments will take place Saturday, October 23 at Dos Vientos Park and Saturday November 6 at Peppertree Park in Newbury Park, 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. both days.

The YMCA childcare site at Mountain Meadows Elementary School (4200 Mountain Meadows Drive) in Moorpark will host a "Parents Night Out," Friday, October 1 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

With mid-term elections right around the corner, teens in Newbury Park have the opportunity to get a first-hand look into how the government works. The Miller Family Y's Youth & Government is accepting applications to the program.
