The Triunfo YMCA, serving Westlake Village, Agoura Hills and Oak Park, will hold its first meeting of its Model United Nations program, designed for kids in sixth through eighth grades on Thursday, January 27 at 6:30 p.m.

Parents who need holiday shopping time without the kids or just want a night to themselves will have the opportunity on Friday, December 10 when the Triunfo YMCA offers evening childcare at Sumac Elementary's YMCA Childcare Center in Agoura Hills.

Sign-ups for the Miller Family YMCA Flag Football season are underway. League play begins January 8, 2011.

The second annual Miller Family YMCA Jingle Bell 5K Run/Walk will be held Sunday, December 19. The run/walk begins at 8:00 a.m. at the Miller YMCA followed by a free Kids Fun Walk at 9:15 a.m.

The Triunfo and Conejo Valley YMCAs will each host a week of fun and games during its annual winter camps.

The Southeast Ventura County YMCA, comprised of four branches: Conejo Valley YMCA, Miller Family YMCA, Simi Valley Family YMCA and Triunfo YMCA, received a $5,000 grant from the Wells Fargo Foundation.

Firefighters from Ventura County Station #44 came to visit preschoolers at the Miller Family YMCA last week. The kids learned about fire safety and how to dial 911 in emergencies.

The Conejo Valley YMCA is hosting its sixth annual Turkey Day Dash on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, November 25. The 5k run/walk and 1k family fun run/walk will take place at The Oaks Shopping Center (350 West Hillcrest Dr., Thousand Oaks).

Enrichment classes include swim lessons, gymnastics, dance and yoga. Classes are included in the monthly preschool fee when the family is a YMCA member.
