Southeast Ventura County YMCA

YMCA branches serving the Conejo Valley/Las Virgenes, Simi Valley and Moorpark areas have a limited number of openings left for children in TK through fifth grade for YMCA after-school childcare programs.

Gala proceeds will support YMCA classes and programs including Find My Genius, a no-cost summer achievement gap program serving low- and moderate-income students who are not reading at grade level.

The program is offered at no cost to low- and moderate-income students entering K-6th grades who are not reading at grade level.

The Southeast Ventura County YMCA and the Columbia Memorial Space Center have collaborated on a new advanced STEM program for local middle schoolers. The YMCA's STEM Club begins October 19 with virtual meetings.

Tickets are available from July 1 through October 17 (or when sold out).

The Yarrow YMCA features a fitness center, eight-lane indoor lap pool, warm water pool, gymnasium, group exercise classes, meeting space, café and lounge.

Funds raised during the campaign provide financial assistance to low-income individuals and families who cannot afford the full program rate. Last year, the SEVC YMCA distributed nearly $400,000 in scholarships.

On hand to help pass out checks were California Strong co-founders Christian Yelich, Ryan Braun, Mike Moustakas, and Mike Attanasio.

The Yarrow Family YMCA is $375,000 away from reaching its $12 million fundraising goal needed to complete construction before its opening this spring.

In response to the recent tragedies in California, professional athletes Christian Yelich, Ryan Braun, Mike Moustakas and Jared Goff, have joined forces with the Southeast Ventura County YMCA to create California Strong.
