At only 17, Newbury Park High School senior Courtney Brousseau is on his way to becoming a Supreme Court Chief Justice. Bruousseau was elected YMCA California Youth & Government’s Chief Justice of the Supreme Court for 2014-15.

The Miller YMCA of Newbury Park has joined #GivingTuesday, a national effort to inspire people to take collaborative action to improve their local communities, give back in better, smarter ways to the charities and causes they support.

Rabobank has donated $25,000 to the collaborative Westlake Village Regional Family Park and Triunfo YMCA building project currently underway in Westlake Village.

The Miller Family YMCA of Newbury Park has formed a new service committee and is seeking volunteers. The service committee will undertake four service projects a year. The first project is helping with the Sycamore Canyon School garden November 16.

Anne Romine, mother of Kenny Lee Romine, threw the first pitch in honor of her son’s love for baseball at the soon-to-be-opened “Kenny Lee Romine Field of the Dreamer” baseball field at the new Westlake Village Community Park and Triunfo YMCA.

The Miller Family YMCA's Flag Football League begins its fifth season on December 6. Sign-ups are now underway. A free skills clinic and registration day will be held Saturday, October 11 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Del Prado Playfields.

The Southeast Ventura County YMCA’s 50th anniversary and the Conejo Valley’s country roots will be celebrated at a western hoedown, Thursday, October 2 at 6:00 p.m. at the Conejo Valley YMCA (4031 N. Moorpark Rd., Thousand Oaks).

The 3rd Annual Triunfo YMCA Goblin Gallop will be held Saturday, October 18 as part of the 12th Annual Westlake Village City Celebration.

Construction of phase one of the Westlake Village Community Park and Triunfo YMCA consisting of two new baseball/softball synthetic turf fields with an overlay soccer field and volleyball court, is scheduled for completion in September.
