Girls in pre-kindergarten through sixth grade can sign up for the Miller Family YMCA of Newbury Park cheerleader squad in February. Participants will cheer at Miller YMCA basketball league games that begin in March.

Two new directors have joined the Miller Family YMCA of Newbury Park, according to Katie Beck the Miller YMCA's executive director.

A youth indoor basketball league is forming at the Miller YMCA of Newbury Park. The league is for children in pre-kindergarten through sixth grade.

The Triunfo YMCA, serving Westlake Village, Agoura Hills and Oak Park, is starting its Model United Nations program, designed for kids in sixth through eighth grades.

The Southeast Ventura County YMCA and its four branches serving communities in eastern Ventura County have kicked off their annual fundraising campaign.

Kids can enjoy week-long spring camps in Thousand Oaks, Moorpark and Agoura Hills through the local branches of the YMCA. Camps coincide when school is not in session.

The Miller Family YMCA of Newbury Park will begin a new session of its cancer survivor wellness program January 16. The 12-week program is held at the Miller Y (320 Via Las Brisas) in Newbury Park.

Residents in east Ventura County can tour their local Y and receive a one-week, full-use YMCA trial membership. The trial memberships are available at the Miller Family YMCA of Newbury Park, the Conejo Valley YMCA and the Simi Family YMCA.
